Our first day there I met my sister Makenzy and her family at the farmer's market and bought a ton of berries since I've been deprived of their goodness the past few months! It was heaven spending time with my precious babies and eating Oregon berries!
We played on the playground for a little while after shopping at the market.
Makenzy showed of her little baby bump! Due January 24th!
That evening we went to the Brewfest - such luck visiting home during Brewfest! Can you guess who the photo-bomber is?
Even though this is blurry, I had to post it! I have no idea what's going on but it must have been good!
We had such a good time, but we missed Janine for sure!
Sev showed off his new classy t-shirt, and I showed off my new hair style!
The next day Lisa and Keith hosted a BBQ for us at their house and tons of friends, family, and colleagues came to catch up with us!
The Tres Amigas had a long awaited reunion!
Frankie charmed everyone as usual.
We got to catch up with Vida one last time before she went on her adventure to teach English in Abu Dhabi!
I couldn't believe how grown up and sophisticated Remi was! He has changed so much in the last few months!
Sev didn't get the memo that it was summer, so he wore pants with dress shoes and socks. He borrowed a pair of shorts from Keith but had to make do with his footwear...
My smart little protege Stephanie came to give hugs!
Everyone enjoyed the sun!
It looks like we're having some girl talk here!
James got some use out of Lisa's exercise equipment!
This is the MFS circle - full of several of my talented former colleagues at MFS!
I've known Angel and his mom Ana since he was in 3rd grade, now he's going on to middle school!!
One day when I went to pick Sev up from the gym, I noticed that Grimm was filming across the street! The two main characters are in the center of the shot here!
I made a hopscotch for James and Frankie and James labeled it!
Here's James taking his turn.
And Frankie taking her turn.
We had some good nights around the fire making s'mores!
Frankie made a makeshift drum set with a couple stools and chopsticks!
We ate Mexican food almost every day, since there's no Mexican down under! I've missed it so much I even had a dream about this meal the other night! I ate myself sick this night!
We went to the beach for our second weekend in town since Makenzy and Don recently bought a house in Seaside. We stopped at Costco on the way out of town and came upon the Hillsboro air show - it was pretty cool to see their tricks!
Frankie couldn't wait to ride her bike to the beach!
She has recently learned how to ride her bike and showed off her new skills!
No one believed the forecast when it predicted 80 degrees on the beach and most of us came a little bit unprepared for the 90 degree day we actually had! It was a day for the history books!
James flew his kite in the wind.
So did Alexis and Lauren.
Frankie and I had to take a dip in the water to cool off! We didn't go much deeper than this though!
Alexis and Lauren raked the sand.
Grey and Aiden made a trough that got filled up with water when the tide came up!
Frankie had to hose off after rolling around in the sand, and insisted on doing it herself.
We had an incredible sunset on the beach.
Alexandra and me enjoying the sunset.
We posed for many pictures in front of the sunset! Here with Dave and Shawnna.
We made a campfire and lounged around it after the sun went down.
Alexandra, Frankie, and Lauren sitting by the fire.
James and Grey cuddling Homer by the fire.
Alexis, Shawnna, and Shirley keeping warm.
Later in the week I got some quality time with Lisa'a cat Mishka (AKA no-necker due to her short little neck), reminding me that I'm the only person she likes! Such a sweet kitty! Of course this sweetness was quickly followed by clawing and hissing...
Remi was so excited to see me at first, probably wondering why his cousin Quita wasn't around!
Makenzy, Alexandra, and I went to Cottonwood Beach on the Columbia River with the kids one day and Frankie wore her goggles the whole time, in and out of the water!
James spent most of the day trying to catch tiny fish in the net! They even caught a few!
We went to Janine and Marc's wedding reception (they got married in Mexico in June) at Marc's parent's house near Roseburg. We saw a baby deer outside the property!
The couple's first dance.
Steph, Lisa, Janine, and I all had a blast that night! I may or may not have had a little too much fun...
Showing Neen our love!
The Tres Amigas strike again.
The announcer for the reception cancelled last minute, so Sev volunteered to do it! He did such a great job!
On my birthday, we went to Makenzy and Don's for dinner and had to break out the slip n' slide to avoid melting in the heat! Sev went down on his feet.
Frankie went down on her knees, and taught me to go down on my side until I popped it! My abs were so sore the next day! I clearly need to do this more often!
They got me a delicious cake and Kindle for my birthday!
I really enjoyed reading it on the long trip home!

So great to get to visit with you.
ReplyDeleteYou too Brandon! I realized when posting that I didn't get any pictures from the pool that day!
